Jesus Calms the Storm

Jesus taught beside the sea and later crossed it with his disciples. A great storm arose while he slept, and the frightened disciples woke him. He rebuked the wind and told the sea to be still. The disciples then asked who he was, that even the wind and sea obeyed him. Mark places the scene among accounts that invite readers to consider Jesus’ authority and the disciples’ growing understanding.
