Joshua and the Jordan

Joshua led the people toward the Jordan. The priests carrying the ark stepped into the water, and the narrative describes the river stopping so the people could cross. Stones were taken from the river as a memorial, so future generations could ask what they meant and hear the story. The crossing connects a new beginning with the responsibility to remember and teach.
