Jonah and Nineveh
Jonah tried to flee from the mission to Nineveh. After a storm and being swallowed by a great fish, he prayed and was returned to dry land. He went to Nineveh, where the people responded to the warning, but he was angry at the mercy shown to them. The book ends with God’s question about compassion, inviting readers to examine their own reluctance to see mercy extended to others.
