Job’s Questions

Job lost his children, possessions, and health in the opening chapters of the book. His friends first sat with him in silence. When Job spoke, he lamented deeply and questioned the day of his birth. The book then develops a long conversation about suffering. These opening chapters should not be used to blame people for pain or to reduce every loss to a neat explanation.
