Elijah at Horeb

After the confrontation at Carmel, Elijah fled because Jezebel threatened him. Exhausted, he lay down and asked to die; food and rest came before his onward journey. At Horeb, the narrative describes wind, earthquake, and fire, followed by a quiet voice. Elijah was given further work and was told he was not alone in remaining faithful. The story holds exhaustion and renewed direction together.
