David and Bathsheba
David saw Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, and used his royal power to bring her to him. After she became pregnant, his attempts to conceal what had happened led to orders that placed Uriah in deadly danger. The prophet Nathan confronted David with a story and then named his wrongdoing. These chapters describe grave abuse, harm, and consequences; they should not be presented as a romantic story.
