A Community Begins

At Pentecost, the disciples are gathered when a sound like a rushing wind fills the house. They are filled with the Holy Spirit and speak in other languages. People from many places hear them speaking in their own tongues.

Peter addresses the crowd and speaks about Jesus. Many respond, and a new community takes shape around teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. The chapter describes shared care and generosity alongside worship. The story moves from the disciples toward a wider public witness.
